“The intent is to show respect towards dots and lines, by using them as the central focus of the art work with each visual element separated. At first they each had no meaning, small in retribution, of no importance, but I gave them their own value. For the “Intuition and Intellect” series, the thinking behind it is about the value of the orderly. Within the heart and the brain, they work separately from different left and right sides but together at the same time. The results often come from the brain, resulting in neat geometric shapes but when the heart is used, they may seem like geometric shapes but they were illustrated freely with no rulers or colours that are thematic. Brush strokes are quick and sudden.
This painting is an acrylic painting on cloth, the same technique is applied. The reason for this is because I am quite a neat and orderly person, I have my own sets of rules that are like mathematical equations. Which is why I questioned its truth, as I may not find it within such constraints. So I wanted to do both at the same time, separately in another set. There are of course sharp geometric lines, I used all my measuring instruments, to strike a line, to measure, I fully used my ruler. The other set has more freedom, I used my hands to strike lines directly onto the my canvas, some lines were not equally drawn, dots were both close and apart. I left it to nature, for the colour red to move freely with the lines. It is like a comparison, like coming up with your own theory in search of yourself and finding beauty in more depth.”
