From Spray Cans to Canvas… Where Street Art Meets Fine Art

While many recognize Alex Face from his graffiti on urban walls and abandoned buildings, this piece demonstrates his masterful painterly skills through the traditional medium of oil on canvas.
The work features his signature character, “Mardi,” a disgruntled three-eyed child inspired by his own daughter. The “third eye” represents spiritual insight—seeing another dimension of reality that we often overlook.
In this painting, Mardi invites us to witness the contrasting landscape of the Bang Pho district, where traditional riverside life and ancient temples are being encroached upon by modern high-rises. It is a powerful documentation of social history through aesthetic expression.
