Urban Merchant No.8
Mixed Media
Assemblage of found objects
122x390 cm.
2008
This work is created from found objects assembled into an abstract composition — not telling a direct story but evoking meaning through material traces, textures, and juxtapositions.
By gathering ordinary objects from daily life and reordering them, Mukdamanee constructs an expansive vision of the urban landscape — fragmented yet interconnected, raw yet resonant. The work stands as both a material record and an abstract image of contemporary society.
Vichaya “Win” Mukdamanee is an artist, educator, and scholar — with a BFA (First Class Honours) from Silpakorn University, MFA from Pratt Institute (Fulbright Scholar), and a D.Phil. in Fine Art from the Ruskin School of Art, University of Oxford.
